Full of love, laughter and joy, Glenda Reardon was a person who freely shared her kindness and genuine caring for others. As a dietitian with the Office for the Aging in Western NY, she helped and impacted countless people she met, showing them how to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Glenda was a wonderful and devoted wife, sharing 42 years with her loving husband, John. She was the best mom to their three children (and spouses), Ryan (Melissa), Michael (Alesha) and Kimberly (Paul). Glenda cherished her five grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, Luke, Zinnea and Jack. Love of family came first in Glenda’s life. Glenda was always ready to play a game, go for a hike, or bake some scrumptious cookies! She loved people, and instantly made them feel welcome and noticed. One example of her amazing heart is when she was staying in Hospice, just two weeks before she passed. Glenda insisted on baking cutout cookies and frosting them to give to all the other patients! Her family followed her lead, as they pushed her in a wheelchair with a plate full of cookies in her lap!
God called Glenda to be with Him on January 1, 2014, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Even in the roughest times in her last month on earth, Glenda’s faith, love, and joy permeated each room she entered. Her love and joy continues, and defies even the boundaries of life and death. She proved that even in the midst of pain and suffering…love always wins, and love never ends.
To continue Glenda’s legacy of unconditional love, our family has established the Glenda’s Gift Fund to help others. This Fund has two parts: 1) to help people in need, in various circumstances, and 2) to help fund the Student Assistance Fund for Dietetic Interns at the University at Buffalo. For more information on the Student Assistant Fund for Dietetic Interns, please click here.
Our family wishes to continue Glenda’s passion to help others by giving this gift to people in her name. We welcome anyone’s support of Glenda’s Gift Fund. To donate to either part of the fund, please click here.
From all of Glenda’s loving family, we thank you very much for your generosity and deeply appreciate your help with Glenda’s Gift.
